Welcome to Howes in the World!!
I started my first blog in November 2013 to document my epic honeymoon with my husband Logan. My paltry following basically included family, a couple of friends with extra time on their hands and a few (VERY few) followers who do not know us personally. After consistently sharing an account of our seven-month trip, I stopped cold-turkey when we got back to the States.
I thought our long-term travel days would have to be put on hold while my husband got his Ph.D. Much to my delight we were able to travel longish term less that a year later. I picked back up on writing right where I left off and a few months later felt inspired enough to take the plunge and fork over the moolah for a website of my very own.
That first blog was a digital journal of our adventure. While there are posts I am proud of, most of my writing is rushed, error-filled, and a little embarrassing. So, in preparation of launching this new and improved blog, I decided to go back and tweak some of those old posts. Unfortunately my writing was even less impressive than I remember it being, so in reality I rewrote (and am still rewriting) those old blogs. It has been a long, arduous task, but I am finally making a dent.
I want to be proud of what I am publishing on this site, so if that means painstakingly re-working the 100-or-so posts I have already written, then that is what I am going to do.
If you have been following my blog since the very beginning, THANK YOU! Many of the upcoming posts will seem similar to what I have written in the past, but I encourage you read them again. Hopefully are MUCH BETTER than the originals.
Welcome new people!
If you are new, WELCOME!!! This has definitely been a labor of love, and sometimes passionate hate, and this website is a work in progress. Despite having my first blog for nearly two years now, I basically know nothing about running a real website. Please bear with me as I learn and grow as a writer and a blogger. I am sure it will take a while to work out all the kinks and figure out how this whole thing works. I am super nervous, but mostly I am really excited!
